Security Now! Episode 3 is Live

Leo Laporte and Steve Gibson

I've posted Security Now! Episode 3.

Main feed - courtesy AOL Radio

In this edition Steve Gibson and Leo Laporte talk about the benefits of NAT routers.

If you're on a broadband connection:

  1. Use a router (even if it's not labeled a "firewall" it works as one)
  2. Change the default password
  3. Turn off WAN management
  4. Disable UPNP (universal plug 'n' play) and reset

Steve's recommended software firewalls: Kerio and Tiny.

For further details, including a description of Steve's dual router DMZ technique, transcripts, and low bandwidth versions of our show visit grc.com.
